Dr. Chester (Chet) Ho joined UPMC in December 2024 as the Chief Medical Officer for UPMC Health Plans and Enterprise Population Health.

With 25 years of health care executive leadership, Dr. Ho is dedicated to improving population health outcomes through clinical and provider value-based strategies, operations, and innovation. He has demonstrated his ability to drive change and innovation through executive and national leadership roles with health plans leading clinical operations and strategy; health systems in both provider and population health leadership; management consulting working with providers and health systems to develop the acumen and population health strategies to take value-based care risk through ACOs and provider sponsored health plans; and AI-driven healthcare delivery focusing on strategies for AI to support care delivery and health care overall. 

Several of the organizations Chet has been involved with include Evolent Health, AmeriHealth Caritas, Indiana University Health, Carle Health and Health Alliance Medical Plans, Ellipsis Health, and now UPMC.

Dr. Ho received his medical degree from the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago. He completed his pediatric residency at both St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Washington University School of Medicine, and Children’s Memorial Hospital, Northwestern University School of Medicine, and business coursework through the American College of Physician Executives.
