Chris Loughlin joined BrainCheck as CEO in October 2024, where he leads the company’s mission to make cognitive health care more accessible, proactive, and scalable. He has more than two decades of experience building, scaling, and leading technology companies across health care and consumer markets.
From March 2020 to October 2024, Chris served as managing partner at Pixiu Investments, a private equity firm based in Austin, Texas, where he oversaw investments in prominent local brands including MLS soccer team Austin FC, Tiff’s Treats, and Easy Tiger. Previously, he served as CEO of Digital Pharmacist, a patient engagement platform for community pharmacies. During his tenure, the business grew from fewer than 200 pharmacies to more than 7,500 pharmacies, serving millions of patients nationwide. Digital Pharmacist was acquired by private equity in December 2018.
From 2001 to 2015, Chris held a series of senior leadership roles at Travelzoo (NASDAQ: TZOO), where he helped develop the company’s core products and revenue streams and founded and scaled its European business. As CEO for five and a half years, he led the company through a period of significant global growth, meeting or exceeding Wall Street expectations in 20 of 22 quarters. Under his leadership, Travelzoo grew to approximately 600 employees across 26 offices worldwide and reached 30 million subscribers globally.
Chris holds a BSc (Honors) in Technology Management from Staffordshire University, an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley Haas School of Business, focused on entrepreneurship and strategy, and an MBA from Columbia Business School, focused on finance.
He is active in the Austin community and serves as Board Chair of YPO Austin Gold, having previously served as Board Chair of YPO Austin, and has served on the National Leadership Board of the Blanton Museum of Art at the University of Texas. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Kent School in Connecticut, which he attended as an English-Speaking Union scholar. His recognitions include Young Entrepreneur of the Year from Barclays Commercial and “Most Likely to Challenge the Status Quo” from UC Berkeley Haas alumni.
