Maribeth McLaughlin

Maribeth McLaughlin is the Chief Nurse Executive at UPMC, a world-renowned health care provider and insurer. 

In this role, she leads UPMC nursing strategy and supports the critical work of more than 22,000 nurses across the system. Maribeth is responsible for maintaining rigorous nursing standards across 40 academic, community, and specialty hospitals and more than 700 outpatient and rehabilitation locations. She oversees seven UPMC Schools of Nursing, where UPMC trains and educate the next generation of highly skilled nurses. 

Maribeth’s past roles include Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Operations at the distinguished UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital and Vice President of UPMC’s women’s health service line. She holds four decades of experience in nursing leadership, health care operations, and women’s health advocacy. 

Maribeth earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Duquesne University and master’s degree in public management from Carnegie Mellon University. She has chaired the American Hospital Association Maternal Child Health Council and served as president of the Council of Women’s and Infants’ Specialty Hospitals. She is also active on the Family House Board of Directors, the Carlow University Board of Trustees, and The Beckwith Institute Board of Directors.
