Beyond Hospital Walls: Aligning Incentives in the Evolving Ambulatory Landscape
The demand for more convenient care, lower costs, and greater access is driving many players in health care to invest in ambulatory care under a variety of models. But many challenges, including benefit design, reimbursement, access to patient records, fragmented care, and others, can cause incentives to be misaligned between providers, payers, patients, and the alternative providers and technology companies that have also entered this space. This session will examine those challenges and discuss strategies that can help align incentives and deliver the care that patients are increasingly seeking.

Establishing Trust: How Health Systems Can Build Engagement with Patient Education
Patients no longer rely on their doctors for advice and are increasingly turning to a variety of online sources for health information, including social media influencers, videos, and online forums that aren’t vetted and often contain misinformation.
Health systems have the opportunity to build trust with patients and engage them in their care by delivering timely and helpful information through a variety of channels. This discussion will explore effective ways to engage patients in educational content that ultimately drives patients to seek care from the health system.

More than the Sum: How Health Systems are Partnering to Scale Innovation
Health care is facing increasingly complex challenges and health systems and others are seeking technology to help with solutions. But there is only so much one institution can do develop or vet technology that will truly make a difference. Partnerships between health systems, venture capitalists, and others are becoming a way effectively scale innovation. This panel discussion will feature leaders of organizations that are working together to develop and implement technology that will have the greatest impact on health care.

Overcoming Barriers: Testing AI Models with Health System Data
Artificial intelligence promises to be a transformational health care technology but faces a chicken-and-egg problem. Startup AI companies and researchers want access to health system datasets to inform their models but have difficulty getting it. Health systems are wary of providing access to their data but then face the challenge of validating AI solutions and establishing partnerships with researchers.
In this session, experts will discuss potential solutions to this problem, including the pros and cons of health systems establishing a secure, de-identified data “sandbox” where AI models can be evaluated before being deployed into a clinical environment.
11:20 AM-12:00 PM
PANEL
Unlocking the Potential: Making Real World Data Available for Retrospective Studies
This panel will explore the challenges and opportunities of health systems making patient data available to industry for retrospective clinical trials. Experts will discuss the complexities of data privacy, security, and interoperability, alongside the potential for accelerating medical research and improving patient outcomes. Attendees will gain insights into best practices for data sharing agreements, ethical considerations, and innovative solutions to overcome barriers. Join us to understand how collaborative efforts can transform health care by leveraging existing data to drive scientific discoveries and enhance clinical trial efficiency.
